Texas Compassionate Use Act

What you need to know

Enacted by the Texas Legislature in 2015, and updated in 2019 through House Bill 3703, the Texas Compassionate Use Act allows DPS to keep a secure registry of board certified physicians who treat qualifying conditions for the purpose of recommending low-THC cannabis to patients. The new law added all forms of epilepsy, as well as multiple sclerosis, spasticity, autism, ALS, terminal cancer, and neurodegenerative disease as the qualifying conditions.
